Who can live in Griffin Village?

 

The Gardens will fall under the Housing for Older Persons Act of 1995, an amendment to the Fair Housing Act, requiring residents to be 55 years of age or older. Residents of The Gardens will also need to meet the medical requirements for personal care or assisted living in the State of Georgia. Although Griffin Village is a mission of the First Assembly of God church, members of any denomination will be welcome.

 

When do you think Griffin Village will open?

 

We anticipate that it will take approximately 12-18 months to complete construction of the first phase of The Gardens at Griffin Village, and we expect an opening date of late spring or early summer of 2013.

When do you think construction will start?

 

Subject to obtaining necessary permits and approvals, we anticipate construction beginning as early as the Spring of 2012.

 

How is this a Mission of First Assembly of God Church?

 

Pastor Randy Valimont has had a vision and passion to create housing not only for the members of his congregation but also for the Greater Griffin community for over a decade. Recognizing Pastor Valimont’s enthusiasm and support for this project, Harmony Senior Living quickly and proudly agreed to be a part of his mission. Harmony Senior Living plans to work hand in hand with Pastor Valimont and his church to make this the most outstanding community of its kind

 

How many new jobs will this create in Griffin?

 

The Gardens at Griffin Village are expected to create approximately 60 full-time-equivalent jobs at the facility. Those jobs are in addition to the significant number of construction jobs and indirect jobs resulting from the construction of the facility itself.

 

Will there be jobs for people who live in the area?

 

Harmony Village is committed to hiring the most talented and best qualified individuals to serve our seniors. During the construction process, many construction positions will be created, followed by operational opportunities in administration, housekeeping, maintenance, activities, nursing services, etc

What will it cost to live at Griffin Village?

 

Exact pricing has not yet been determined, but will be based on unit size, services and amenities as well as competition in the market place. More definitive pricing will be published as more information becomes available.

What is the difference between independent and assisted living?

INDEPENDENT LIVING is all about lifestyle. Designed for seniors who require little or no assistance with the activities of daily living, independent living units provide services for residents such as nutritious meals, seemingly endless activities, fitness programs, housekeeping, laundry and transportation in the local area. Residents of independent units may have some home health care services provided by in-house staff or an outside agency. These residents pay a monthly rental fee.

The Assisted Living Federation of America defines ASSISTED LIVING as a long-term care option that combines housing, support services and health care, as needed. Assisted living is designed for individuals who require assistance with everyday activities such as meals, medication management, bathing and/or dressing, and transportation. Some residents may have memory disorders including Alzheimer's, or they may need help with mobility, incontinence or other challenges. Residents are assessed upon move in, regularly thereafter, or any time there is a change in condition. The assessment is used to develop an Individualized Service Plan.

 

Who owns Griffin Village?

 

Griffin Village is being developed by Harmony Senior Living. The Gardens at Griffin Village will be owned by an affiliated, single-purpose Georgia LLC---HSL Griffin M1, LLC. Harmony Senior Living works exclusively with faith groups to provide housing for seniors. Harmony Senior Living is responsible for all aspects of the project, from finding the land to constructing the buildings.
